Heidi Duty: Serving a Critical Need

Veteran suicide rate is currently 20 per day, and
(800) 273-TALK is the main VA resource
Veterans have.

Heidi connects Heroes to the VA via www.maketheconnection.net to reconnect the Veteran with their health, their weapon, and civilian life.

Gun safety is often ignored by Civilians, who have little understanding of how a Veteran is either associated with their weapon in a healthy way or disassociated entirely from their weapon in an unhealthy way.

Non-medical caregiving has a vital role to support both Veterans and their families. Working in the home, non-medical caregivers can provide support that the VA cannot. Listening to the Veteran, the Carer can reconnect that individual to community services.

  • Extreme Caregiving

No duty is too great or small if within the limit of the Law

  • Super Cozy

We respect Veteran boundaries at all times.  Being gentle and resourceful is the name of the game to improve each Vet's life.

  • Gun Safety

Heidi Duty is trained in field stripping, cleaning, and storing weapons.  Free trigger locks are available.  We are not gun grabbers or gun nuts.  Heidi Duty is single minded about gun safety, recognizing high rates of Veteran suicide are mostly committed with guns to which no one has paid attention.  Often times a Vet needs help getting out to the range, or cleaning and storing weapons to feel better.

  • Field Stripping the Home

Most Caregiving services keep a clean home clean and do only light housekeeping.  Heidi Duty takes everything apart, wipes it clean, then puts it back together to the Veteran's specifications.

  • End of Life Care

Heidi Duty is equipped to care for Veterans in partnership with their local Hospice.  Heidi Duty is committed to the highest level of care for Veterans at the most vulnerable stage of life.

  • No Questions Asked

Heidi Duty never asks questions.  True neighbors do not ask questions.  True neighbors take action if need be, or simply listen and never pass judgment.
