Clemson University Military Appreciation Day

Dedication ceremony of Memorial Park near the Scroll of Honor.

Clemson University is celebrating Military Appreciation Week by hosting a series of events to recognize Clemson’s rich tradition of military excellence dating back to its founding as a military school and to honor the 10,000-plus Clemson men and women who have served in the armed forces.

Tuesday, November 13

Clemson Green Zone Training – This training is to help faculty and staff understand student veterans and how to support them better.

Wednesday, November 14

Carillon Gardens – Flag placement for Verified Clemson Veterans
Location: Carillon Gardens

Thursday, November 15

Veteran Community Dialogue – This event will discuss issues relevant to veterans.

6:00 P.M.
Scroll of Honor, Memorial Park – Flags will be placed around the barrow. Come join in this event to honor our Clemson fallen comrades.

Friday, November 16
3:00 P.M.
Clemson Student Veteran Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Location: Vickery Hall, Room 108

Saturday, November 17 – Military Appreciation Day Football Game vs Duke, Kickoff time TBD
“Hero of the Game” – Throughout the season, Clemson University Athletics will spotlight Heroes of the Game. Anyone can go to clemsontigers.com to nominate someone.

4-6 hours prior to kick-off:
Air Force and Army ROTC recruiting tents
Local National Guard unit equipment displayed
Vintage Military Vehicles and displays
Location: Bowman Field

3 hours prior to kick-off:
Military Appreciation Tailgate | A Donor Celebration – 6th annual military appreciation tailgate combines ROTC units, Clemson Student Veterans, Clemson Corps, military-affiliated alumni and donors and their families to interact with ROTC cadre, ROTC Cadets, VIPs and university leadership prior to the game.

3-4 hours prior to kick-off:
Flag Exchange Ceremony at the Scroll of Honor/Memorial Park – Pershing Rifles will change out the flag flown at the Scroll of Honor.

2 hours prior to kick-off:
Tiger Band Performance – Come listen to the band play their pre-game concert.
Location: Amphitheater

1.5 hours prior to kick-off:
Parade – Marching band, cheerleaders, both ROTC units, student veterans, local Guard/Reserve units, Clemson Corps and others join in the parade.
Location: From central campus to the stadium
